The Cradle of Civilisations and Water Sports in Izmit (Turkey)

 


Where / Camp location

Istanbul and Izmit – Turkey

Program

First week in Istanbul and second week in Izmit. There will be excursions to nearby places as well as swimming, sightseeing and visits to museums.

Period

25 July – 8 August 2010.

Participants

12 young people. One boy or One girl from each country (non-smokers)

16 – 21 years old

Flight tickets to arrival point and back and pocket money.

A detailed program will be given to the participants in June.

Where / Camp location

Sweden

Program

Outdoor and culture on the north Swedish coast.

First week will be spent on the YMCA camp at the Island Norrbyskär south of Umea where we will use the range of available facilities including sailing boats, canoes, climbing adventure park. The group will be led by trained youth leaders and will participate in activities and excursions depending on weather.

Second week will be spent with various leasure and cultural activities in the Umea area, the culture capital of Europe to become. We will also visit the University and some industry. The participants will be accommodated by families of the Rotary Club and together with them they will enjoy all sorts of family activities.

11 participants , “First come first served.”

Accommodations

First week in dormitory at camp Norrbyskär, which will include 1-2 nights of camping outdoors.

Second week the participants will be staying with Rotary Club members and their families in the Umea area.

Host Clubs

District 2320 and Rotary Club Umeä Vastra.

Arrival / Departure

Arrival : Latest arrival in Umeä by air or train at 4PM on Sunday July 25. Departure from Umeä starts morning Saturday August 7.

Flight tickets to arrival point and back.
